The magnificent facade of the majestic building of the Palace of the President of Tajikistan opens directly onto the square. Its construction was begun in the 50s, and finally completed in 1985. The building itself, designed by Stefan Lukich Anisimov, chairman of the board of the Union of Architects of Tajikistan, is a recognized masterpiece and monument of architecture.

Behind the ranks of dark fluffy firs, separating the residence from the square, there are two picturesque symmetrical fountains and they are surrounded by lush carpets of flower beds.
