Founded in the XI century Yaroslavl is one of the main points of the tourist route "Golden ring of Russia".
During its long history the city managed to preserve a huge number of architectural monuments. To date, there are about eight hundred. The center of Yaroslavl is an example of the town – planning policy of the XVIII century, it is recognized as a world heritage site and it is from it that a review of the city's attractions is read.
On 205,7 sq.m. there are numerous cathedrals, convents and churches. All together it makes a huge impression on tourists, because they can see a harmonious ensemble of rare gardens and ancient monuments of architecture, which allowed art critics to call Yaroslavl "Florence of the Russian North". And rightly so.
The legend of Yaroslavl is Spaso-Preobrazhenskiy Convent, built in XIII century and in fact, is its Kremlin. 
The creation of the frescoes of the monastery dates back to the reign of Ivan the terrible, several icons from the once large iconostasis have survived to our time. It was here that the monument of ancient Russian literature "The word about Igor's regiment" was found.
In architectural terms, the pearl of the city is the temple ensemble of the Church of St. John the Baptist. The Church was built by the efforts of citizens for 16 years and today is striking in its majestic article.
A favorite place of tourists-the Volga embankment, once built on the money of Alexander I. it is a cozy gazebo, which is popular with lovers. Residents of Yaroslavl decorated the embankment on their own, which turned it into one of the main attractions of the city.
The red-brick Church of the Epiphany, the Treasury of ancient Russian art, the Church of Elijah the Prophet, the ancient theater built by Fyodor Volkov and many other things – all this creates the greatness of Yaroslavl, makes it incredibly attractive for visiting both Russians from other cities and numerous foreign tourists.
