| Day 1 | Listvyanka | In the morning meeting at the airport. Departure to Listvyanka village on the shores of Lake Baikal (70 km. from Irkutsk). By the way we will visit Taltsy – museum of traditional Siberian architecture in the open air. Lunch in Listvyanka. After lunch excursion to the Baikal museum, where you can see flora and fauna of the lake and also unique Baikal Seal – nerpa. After we will hike up to Chersky Rock where you can take panoramic pictures of Baikal from above. Visit to the local market with its typical saleswomen of omul, salmon-like fish indigenous to Lake Baikal. In the evening return to Irkutsk. Dinner. |
| Day 2 | Ust-Orda | Breakfast. In the morning departure to Khuzir, the main village of island Olkhon and the 6 hours journey. Drive north 250 km./155 ml. along the Promorsky Mountains on Baikal's western shore to the Olkhon Island ferry. En route – stopper In Ust-Orda settlement, centre of Buryat culture located 62 km away from Irkutsk. You will visit the Local Lore Museum and learn about the history of different ethnic groups that inhabited the region since the Paleolithic Era. You will learn a lot about the customs, traditions and beliefs of the Western Buryats. The highlight of the trip will be participation in ancient purification ritual with a real shaman. Lunch in a local cafe (Buryat cuisine). Make the crossing (by ice in winter, by ferry-boat in summer) to Olkhon Island. Accommodation in a hotel in Khuzir Excursion to the museum of Local Lore. A walking excursion through the village down to the 4km sandy ice beach and the Cape of Burkhan to see the sunset at the famous Crag of Shaman (Rock Temple). Dinner. |
| Day 3 | Khoboy | Breakfast. Excursion to the northern part of Olkhon – cape Khoboy. You will visit the most picturesque places on the island – sandy dunes in Peschanka, cape Three brothers, Idiba valley and cape Khoboy. Our guide will tell you legends about Khoboy and explain why this place is sacred for shamanists. Picnic with baikal soup – uha (in summer). Return to Khuzhir. Banya (for extra pay). Dinner. |
| Day 4 | Irkutsk | Breakfast. After breakfast, board the bus at 10:00 and drive to the ferry-station. Cross the strait by ice (ferry-boat in summer) to the mainland and drive to Irkutsk. Stop for lunch en route in the buryat village. Arrival in Irkutsk. End of program. |
