On the hill, which today is called Gremyach, a unique obelisk dedicated to the achievements of the great Emperor Peter the Great. The stones at the base of this memorial complex was founded in the 1850's. The official opening took place in 1852. The construction of the obelisk went according to the plan of the architect p. S. Campioni.
During the opening of this sculptural masterpiece was attended by both locals from Pereslavl-Zalessky, and the population of the surrounding villages, as well as high-ranking officials from Moscow and St. Petersburg. The monument is a high marble stele, the top of which is crowned by a double – headed eagle-a symbol of Russian statehood, which stands on a Golden core.
A little closer to the White Palace there is an additional monument of the legendary figure. This sculpture of the bronze king was created recently. Here, the young Peter the Great spread his hands under the boundless distance of the lake, invisibly pointing the way to all the Wanderers in the Museum complex.
The boat of Peter I is an amazing Museum complex, which allows guests of the provincial town to learn the details of the development of the Russian fleet. The exposition of the Museum will please with its brilliance. Within the framework of the exhibition there are small copies of the famous flotilla, which was built here in his youthful years by the great Russian Emperor Peter the great.
