Pereslavl-Zalessky is a small provincial town, which is forever recorded in the history of Russia. It was here that the memorial complex was opened, which is dedicated to the legendary personality – the Russian Emperor Peter the Great. the Provincial Museum has a rather rich history, which increases the value of this institution many times.
Historical digression
Peter has distinguished himself in his young age from the rest of the boys their Hobbies. One of the most favorite occupations of the young king was the construction of a funny flotilla, which he made near lake Pleshcheyevo. The descent of the flotilla took place in may 1692. This event was a key one, as the first Russian fleet was created on may 1.
On this significant day in the village of Veskovo relocated amusing army, which installed on a small hill their guns, which rattled at the time of movement of the first ships on the water of lake Pleshcheyevo. It was from that moment that the hill was called "Gremyach", as the thunder from the volleys of guns was stunningly loud.
To perpetuate the merit of the great Russian Emperor – Peter I, it was decided to open a Museum-estate on the territory of the village. The decree on the construction of the complex was given Dolgoruky-Governor of Vladimir land. Therefore, by 1803 on the territory of the estate was built the first building-botny house. Funds for the construction were found by local residents of Pereslavl district.
In total, several buildings have been built on the territory of the complex, each of which is a unique monument of antiquity. The HOMESTEAD was built: rotunda, a White Palace and a stone gatehouse. Of great interest from tourists cause Triumphal gates, which complete a small alley that leads from the Palace building.
