Raifsky Bogoroditsky monastery, located on the territory of Kazan, has an incredible attraction and amazing flavor. This Orthodox monastery has undergone many changes over the years of its existence, but despite this, the style composition of the past centuries, when the monastery was built in Tataria, is preserved here.
Architectural composition is the key feature of the complex
Initially, the monastery was an ensemble of wooden buildings, which were later replaced by stone structures. The key feature of the temple complex is that it is here that managed to preserve the classical architecture in the Baroque style.
The monastery ensemble, which is the adornment of Kazan, was built in the period from 1690 to 1717. The whole complex was a Pentagon, which is framed by a low stone fence, with towers arranged in the corners. This barrier was defensive in nature, which was due to the estranged position from the General part of the city of the Holy monastery. It is this fortress fence that played a key role in the appearance of the entire Orthodox ensemble.
One of the most striking and significant buildings in the ensemble is the Cathedral, built in the name of the Holy Trinity. This Orthodox monastery was built in the neo-Russian style. White stone walls are in perfect harmony with the green domes, which are complemented by Golden crosses.
Some words deserve the Georgian Cathedral, which was consecrated in the name of The Georgian icon of the Mother of God in 1842. The building will be pleased with the combination of several styles: here you can find raids of classicism, which are perfectly set off by a wide drum, decorated in the Empire style. But the key feature here is the restrained decor, which is diluted with bas-reliefs.
