To the East of the Trinity Cathedral is the intercession tent Church. The basis of the building was a small house
Grand Trinity Church on a high basement with deep vaulted basements. Like all the churches of the Alexander settlement of the beginning of the XVI century, it is built of brick and white stone. Interesting in architectural design squat brick tent, which is considered the prototype of all subsequent tent churches, was covered with tiles. The Church's altar and the tent in the 70's of the XVI century painted the wonderful frescoes are partially preserved to the present day. White stone portals at the entrance were decorated with elegant carving. The Church adjoined the Palace of the chamber with basements.
In 1680, when the parish Trinity Church was left without clergymen, the service was not performed there. On the instructions of Tsar Theodore Alekseevich, with the blessing of Patriarch Joachim, it was transferred to the assumption maiden monastery with the order to expand the altar, build a chapel in the name of the great Martyr Theodore Stratilat and a warm refectory. In 1680-1681 large – scale construction works were carried out, both in all monastery, and in Trinity Church, means on which – not less than 700 rubles-were granted by the Tsar "from the Sovereign Treasury".
